As with so many new concept cars these days, the Hyundai Veloster is designed primarily for the next substantial generation of new car buyers: generation Y. Introduced at the Seoul Motor Show earlier this year, the Hyundai Veloster is a sporty, streamlined two door coupe with forward-looking styling and the right mix of features to attract the younger crowd.

"With Veloster, we wanted to try something really different. We're keenly aware that we need radically new products for the Y-generation, the first-time twenties something buyer," said Oh Suk-Geun, Hyundai's vice president of design. "This is really a bold new direction," he added.

The Veloster concept - a name formed from the combination of velocity and roadster - has such appealing styling elements as a panoramic glass roof,  trapezoidal front grille, smooth sweeping lines, striking fenders, and a wide confident stance, that truly does justice to its name. One the inside, the designers were clearly going for an updated retro style that - although not likely to see production in this exact form - seems to fit the car almost perfectly.

The Hyundai Veloster Concept may very well be sent to production given that Hyundai may be interested in a successor to the current-generation Tiburon. Also, the car - if produced - would likely help Hyundai establish itself within the under-40 market.
