The GMC TerraCross Concept SUV
It seems GMC is out to redefine their concept of the SUV. The GMC TerraCross, taking design ques from GMC's “industrial precision” design standard, is far more sleek and edgy than any other SUV currently on the road. The TerraCross is meant to go hand-in-hand with GMC's other industrial precision concept, the Terradyne pick-up.“Just as last year’s Terradyne concept represents GMC’s vision for the ultimate ‘professional grade’ pick-up, TerraCross creates an innovative type of SUV, designed to exceed the expectations of the most demanding customers,” said Lynn Myers, Pontiac-GMC general manager.

TerraCross is designed to be rugged, stylish and functional - capable of acting as a pick-up and five seat convertible. GMC sees the young, urban professional as the primary market for the TerraCross.
“TerraCross is the next decisive step in the evolution of GMC’s 'ndustrial precision' brand style,” said Carl Zipfel, brand character chief designer for GMC. “At 172 inches long, the TerraCross offers maximum interior space and flexibility, as well as agility through efficient design. It features minimal overhangs, and clean, contemporary, billet cut surfaces.”

Among its many features, the TerraCross will sport 19-inch wheels, unique 3-panel sliding glass roof, adjustable mid-gate and gliding rear doors, uni-body construction for a lower body level, green ambient lighting on the dashboard with integrated computer and cellular modem, and front passenger seat swivels.
Without a doubt, if the TerraCross is put into production in the near future (and it probably will, in some form), it will set the standard for urban SUVs.
